Bert Haskell, Jr.

Owner/Funeral Director and Embalmer

Born and raised in the southern suburbs of Chicago, IL I am now a proud resident of Princeville. I am a 1994 graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a BS in Psychology, completed courses towards my Master’s Degree at Governors State University, and graduated from The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in September 1998.

I completed my mortuary science apprenticeship at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia, OH and continued to work as a funeral director/embalmer until February of 2000, when I relocated back to Illinois. I worked for Cumerford-Endsley-Diggle Funeral Home until October 2002, when I returned to my Chicago-born roots and became re-employed at Hirsch Funeral Homes, which is where I got my start in funeral service in 1995 as their bereavement support facilitator.

In May of 2006 I was presented with the opportunity to be the manager of the funeral home in Elmwood, IL and relocated there with my wife Veronica, and our two children, Gabrielle and William. In 2008, I met Joseph B. Hott, owner of Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, and became employed there in September 2009, where I have been ever since.

In March 2013, upon the retirement of owner Joe Hott, I purchased Hott Funeral Homes, Inc. from him, which included Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, and Wyoming and Toulon Funeral Homes. In September 2013 the names of each location were officially changed to Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes.

I am a member of the National Funeral Director’s Association, Illinois Funeral Director’s Association, am a Licensed pre-need agent, a member of  Elmwood Kiwanis, Princeville Lions Club, and past member of the Maple Lane Country Club Board of Directors. I enjoy golfing, fishing, jet skiing, and riding 4 wheelers. I am an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox Fan.

I am proud and honored to continue the tradition of providing the community members in Princeville, Wyoming, Toulon and other local areas the personal, compassionate, and caring service they deserve.

Eric Ham

Funeral Director and Embalmer
I was born and raised in Toulon, where I have many fond memories of the people and places there.  While growing up, grandpa ran the Phillips 66 service station in town and served for a time as mayor, and grandma served as the Home Extension Advisor for Stark County.   Dad worked at Caterpillar and was a part time police officer and volunteer firefighter for Toulon, while mom operated a hair salon out of our home. Our family moved away in 1992 as Caterpillar transferred my dad to Pontiac, IL.
I am a September 1996 graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago.  I have been in funeral service in Peoria for the past 20 years.  I completed my apprenticeship with Davison-Fulton Funeral Chapels before moving to The Wilton Mortuary in 1999.  I last worked as the Client Services Director there from 2003 to 2016.
My wife Nancie and I have five children, the oldest of which is currently serving in the USMC.  Our family resides just north of Kickapoo and attends Bethany Baptist Church in Edwards, where I have served as a greeter, usher and children's Sunday School teacher over the past 19 years.
4-H, Christian Center sports, and YMCA swim team are a few of the things our family has been active in.  My wife teaches Ag in the Classroom through Peoria County Farm Bureau in many local schools.
I am a member of the National Funeral Director's Association and Illinois Funeral Director's Association.  I served as Treasurer, Vice President and President of IFDA District 8 from 2004 - 2007.  I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, reading historical fiction, and am a fan of the Chicago Bears, Cubs, Bulls and Michigan football.

I look  forward to serving the families in the Princeville, Wyoming, Toulon and outlying communities by providing the exceptional level of compassion and care that I would desire for my family.

Nicole Evans

Funeral Director Apprentice

I grew up in Lovington, a small town in central Illinois, before moving to DuBois, Pennsylvania with my family in 2015 for my senior year of high school. I am the only girl in my family, but I have three brothers, amazing parents who have supported me on my path to get where I am today, and finally, my sweet, boxer-lab mix dog, Piper.

My junior year of high school is when i realised that my calling was to be a funeral director. I graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in September 2016, and am now serving my apprenticeship here at Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes to work further towards accomplishing that goal.

I hope to become involved in the community, and I have already joined the Kinstella's Alley Kats bowling team for the Monday night league, even though I am an average bowler at best. Piper and I can often be found on our walks around Wyoming, or playing soccer in a big yard.

I could not be more honored to have the opportunity that has been given to me here. I love the communities and have already started calling Wyoming my home, and I look forward to being able to proudly serve the communities of Princeville, Wyoming, and Toulon.

I was born in Peoria, Illinois, and grew up in a small farm town of Edelstein, Illinois, oh the fond memories of the Hub Ballroom, which we would go dancing every Saturday evening.  I have one sister, Connie (Fred) Fusco who lives in Crossville, TN.  At the age of 10, we moved to the big "city" of Princeville,  which I call my hometown, when my Dad took a position with Bliss Implement Company.  I married my highschool sweetheart, Bernie, at the Ravina on the Lakes in 1984, he was blessed with a ready made family of my three older children, Jason Krey (Natalie) of Chillicothe, Jeramie Krey(Janelle) of Washington, and Jeanette Grant(Jake) of Peoria.   In 1992, Bernie and I were blessed with our boy, Kyle, he resides in Peoria. Jeramie and Jeanette have blessed us with four beautiful grandchildren, Savannah (13), Luke (12), Caleb (10) and Elise (9).  They keep us pretty busy with dance recitals, baseball games, LaCrosse games, and soccer games.   We also were blessed with our own "fur" baby, Mary, in 2015. I retired from the Dunlap School District in August, 2016, after 18 years of service, and started with Haskell-Hott in October. I am in the "Praise Band" at the Princeville Methodist Church, and in my spare time, I love to garden, go shopping, play golf with my friends, and absolutely love to decorate our house for all the holidays, but especially the Christmas Season.   My husband says if you give me a corner, I'll decorate it!   I truly feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with such caring people, and consider them, my Haskell-Hott family.
